The ICE-1 "Ice Box" 2 meter FM transceiver was made by International Communications and Electronics in San Antonio, Texas. The 4-watt rig had a built-in 117 VAC supply, could operate from a car battery, or optional internal NI-CADS. The 3-channei ICE-1 offered independent selection of transmit and receive frequencies.
Differences in the ICE-2, announced just a couple of months after the ICE-1, are unknown. Outwardly, the two are identical.
By December 1968, it is once again referred to as ICE-1.
