Note
The Icom IC-207H is a compact VHF/UHF FM transceiver designed for mobile operation. It provides dual-band coverage for the 144 MHz and 430(440) MHz bands and features a detachable front panel for flexible installation in various vehicle locations. The unit is built to handle high-power transmission while maintaining a user-friendly interface with a clear function display and multi-purpose controls.
The model was phased out in the early 2000s as it was succeeded by newer models like the IC-208H.
Key Features
– Dual-Band Operation: Easily toggles between 144 MHz and 430(440) MHz amateur bands.
– Detachable Front Panel: The front panel can be removed and mounted separately from the main body for custom vehicle installations.
– Multiple Power Output Levels: Offers four selectable transmit power levels: Low (5 W), Mid-Low (10 W), Mid-High (20 W), and High (50 W on VHF; 35 W on UHF).
– Packet Radio Ready: Includes a dedicated 6-pin mini DIN data jack on the rear panel that supports both 1200 bps and 9600 bps packet operation.
– Advanced Scanning and Memory: Features various scan types (including tone scan) and multiple memory options such as scratch pad memories and call channels.
– Subaudible Tone Functions: Built-in subaudible tone encoder and decoder for repeater access, pocket beep, and tone squelch operations.
– Safety and Maintenance Tools: Includes a time-out timer (TOT), auto power-off function, and a cooling fan setting to protect the transceiver during extended use.
