Note
QST, May 1977, p. 2.
Designed as a compact, dash-mounted adapter to provide the IC-245 with SSB and CW modes, in addition to FM. Incorporates an LSI synthesizer chip that generates 100 Hz steps. This tight step resolution provides FM-like frequency stability during mobile SSB operation.
Features
– Variable Frequency Offset: Supports programmable repeater offsets ranging from 10 kHz to 4 MHz (in 10 kHz increments).
– Remote Programming & Computer Control: The internal LSI architecture allows for frequency inputs via a remote keypad or DTMF (Touch-Tone) combination, as well as computer control through a PIA interface.
– Front Panel Controls:
Mode selection for FM, SSB, and CW (Transmit).
Selectable AGC speed (Fast/Off).
Switchable Noise Blanker (NB).
Duplex/Simplex routing controls (A/NOR, B/REV, DUP, SIM).
Concentric volume, squelch, and signal meter controls.
