Note
The ICOM IC-260A is a microcomputer-controlled, all-mode transceiver designed for the 2-meter band. It is a compact and rugged unit suitable for mobile installations, DXing, local calls, and satellite work. The device features a microcomputer-based 100Hz step Digital PLL synthesizer and an advanced continuous tuning system with a no-backlash dial.
Key Features
– All-Mode Coverage: Supports FM, USB, LSB, and CW modes.
– Dual VFOs: Two separate VFOs can be used independently for simplex operations or together for any desired frequency split in duplex mode.
– Multi-Purpose Scanning:
Memory Scan: Monitors three programmable memory channels.
Program Scan: Scans between two user-programmed frequencies.
Auto-Stop: Scanning automatically stops in all modes when a signal is detected.
– Features an LED display that follows the tuning knob movement for highly accurate 100Hz readouts.
– Includes a "Quick Tuning" mode (1kHz steps) and an automatic recycling system that restarts tuning at the band edge when the limits are reached.
– Superior RF Performance: Uses MOS FETs in the RF amplifier and first mixer circuits to provide excellent cross-modulation and selectivity characteristics.
– Additional Built-in Circuits: Includes a Noise Blanker, CW Break-in, CW Monitor, and APC (Automatic Power Control).
