Note
The Icom IC-2710H is a mobile dual band FM transceiver capable of simultaneous reception on both the 144 MHz (VHF) and 430/440 MHz (UHF) bands. Designed for versatile vehicle or base station use, it features a detachable front panel that allows for flexible, separate installation from the main transceiver body. The unit provides robust power output options and advanced communication capabilities, including crossband full duplex operation and a unique para-watch function that lets users monitor two frequencies on the same band simultaneously.
Features
– Simultaneous Dual-Band Reception: Can receive 144 MHz and 430(440) MHz signals at the same time.
– Para-Watch: Allows simultaneous reception of two different signals on the same band (either two VHF or two UHF signals).
– Crossband Full Duplex: Can transmit on the main band while simultaneously receiving on the sub band.
– Selectable Output Power: Three power levels (High, Mid, Low) are available to reduce interference and conserve power during short-distance communications.
– Avionics Band Receive (U.S.A. Version): Capable of receiving AM mode broadcasts in the 118.000 to 135.995 MHz range for aviation monitoring.
Memory & Scanning:
– Extensive Memory Channels: Features 99 regular memory channels, 6 scan edge channels (3 pairs), and 1 call channel per band.
– Scratch Pad Memory: Automatically memorizes the 3 previously transmitted frequencies for each band separately from regular memory channels.
– Versatile Scanning Modes: Includes Full Scan, Programmed Scan, Memory Scan, and Tone Scan (requires optional UT-104).
– Scan Resume Conditions: Five available conditions including three timer scans (5, 10, or 15 seconds), pause scan, and empty pause scan.
– Priority Watch: Checks for signals on a memory or call channel every 5 seconds while operating on a VFO frequency.
Signaling & Control:
– Subaudible Tones & Auto Repeater: Built-in subaudible tone encoder for repeater access. The U.S.A. version includes an auto repeater function that automatically activates standard repeater settings based on frequency.
– DTMF Memory Encoder: Contains 8 DTMF memory channels for storing often-used codes of up to 16 digits (useful for autopatching).
– Optional Pager & Code Squelch: With the optional UT-49 unit, the radio supports DTMF-based personal and group paging, as well as code squelch for silent standby.
– Optional Tone Squelch & Pocket Beep: With the optional UT-104 unit, users gain access to tone squelch (CTCSS decoding) and a pocket beep function.
– Wireless Remote Capability: Compatible with the optional HM-90 wireless microphone and EX-1759 infrared receiver for untethered operation.
