Note
The Icom IC-7000 is a compact HF/VHF/UHF all-mode transceiver designed for high-performance operation in base station, mobile, or portable environments. It integrates advanced IF DSP technology and features a detachable front panel for flexible installation.
The unit is a versatile radio covering amateur bands from 160 meters through 70 centimeters. It features a large multi-function color display and is built with Icom's "technology first" philosophy, incorporating extensive research into its compact design. The unit is designed to handle all operating modes including SSB, CW, RTTY, AM, and FM.
Shipping began in Japan in September 2005, followed by the United States and Europe in late 2005 after receiving FCC certification in November of that year.
Early Production: Initial units produced through early 2006 (specifically those with serial numbers lower than 0504451 in the USA) were known for a minor "8 kHz tone" issue, which was resolved in production by early spring 2006.
The model was officially discontinued in 2015, as Icom shifted focus toward newer SDR-based models.
