The ICOM IC-R70 is a high-performance communications receiver designed for both amateur radio and general shortwave listeners. It operates as a quadruple conversion superheterodyne system (triple conversion for FM) that utilizes an up-conversion system with a high-side IF and a microcomputer control system. This design allows for seamless reception across all amateur bands and general coverage from 100KHz to 30MHz.
