Kit or wired QST, Aug 1955, p. 92. Allied Radio catalog 1962 (copyright 1961), p. 279. The Johnson Viking 2 meter VFO was designed to replace the crystals used in many 2 meter transmitters. Its output was 7.995–8.235 MHz, and its dial was calibrated for that range in addition to 144–148 MHz.
