Johnson’s 6N2 VFO was designed to be used with the company’s 6N2 transmitter or any frequency-multiplying transmitter using crystals in the 8–9 MHz range. The edge-lighted dial had 10:1 vernier tuning. It was calibrated from 144–148 MHz and 50–51.5, 51.5–53, and 53–54 MHz. The VFO used three ranges on 6 meters to deliver adequate band spread.
