The Viking Five Hundred was a complete 80–10 meter, band-switching, 500 watt transmitter. It had wave-shaped keying on CW and low-level clipping on AM phone. The 500 could also be used on SSB with an external exciter. The 4-250A final (4-400A in later models) was modulated by a pair of 811-As. The modulator and power supply were on a separate chassis.
