The Johnson Invader operated SSB, CW, and AM on 80-10 meters. It was a filter-type sideband transmitter with a 9 MHz IF. Power input to the pair of 6146 finals was 200 watts SSB and CW, 90 watts AM. It had ALC for greater talk power and a built-in VOX circuit.
A conversion kit was offered to convert the Invader to the higher power Invader 2000. (CQ, Oct 1960, p. 37.)
