The Invader 2000 was a higher-powered version of Johnson’s Invader transmitter. The Invader’s internal power supply was removed and the space filled with a Class AB2 linear amplifier using a pair of PL-175A tubes. Power input was 2 KW PEP on SSB, 1 KW on CW, and 800 watts on AM. The transmitter’s power supply was on a separate chassis. The Invader 2000 was available factory-wired for $1229.00, or a kit to convert an existing 200-watt Invader could be purchased for $619.50.
