General Notes

Note

he Kenwood AT-130 is a compact HF antenna tuner designed to satisfy a wide range of antenna-tuning requirements. It is a modified version of the popular AT-200, engineered to be small and lightweight for use in both home stations and mobile or field operations. The unit integrates an antenna coupler, an SWR meter, and an antenna switch into a single durable housing. It replaced the older AT-120. While the AT-120 was designed for the TS-120 series, the AT-130 added coverage for the then-new WARC bands (10, 18, and 24 MHz), which were a major selling point in the early 80s. Features – Supports both "MATCHING" and "THROUGH" modes, which are easily selected via the band switch. – Frequency Coverage: 3.5 MHz and 30 MHz. – Integrated SWR Metering: The built-in SWR meter functions in both THROUGH and MATCHING modes to ensure proper system monitoring. – Illuminated Display: The front-panel meter can be illuminated for better visibility using an external 12V DC power source. – Mobile Ready: Includes a dedicated mounting bracket and hardware specifically for mobile installations. Specifications – Frequency Range: 8 amateur bands covering 3.5 to 29.7 MHz. – Input Impedance: 50Ω. – Output Impedance: 20 to 300Ω, unbalanced. – Through Power: 150 W max (reduced to 120 W on the 3.5 MHz band). – Insertion Loss: Less than 0.5 dB at optimum match. – Measurable SWR Range: 1.0:1 to 10:1. – Minimum Power Required: 2 W.
