General Notes

Note

QST, Apr 1976, p. 85. QST, Nov 1976, p. 149. (good photo) Multi-11, 2 meters, $325.00 Multi-U11, 440 MHz, $379.00 Multi-7, 2 meters without scan, $239 These all solid-state, double-conversion NBFM transceivers feature a 2-way 4-channel scan function alongside 23 manually switchable crystal-controlled channels. The 4-channel scanning feature scans both receive and transmit simultaneously. A transmit control crystal selected for simplex or repeater duplex switches with each electronically scanned position, allowing continuous, monitoring of favorite repeaters or stations. A manual toggle switch allows immediate break-in on any scanned channel. Multi-11 covers 144–146 MHz or 146–148 MHz Multi-U-11 covers 420–450 MHz (any 4 MHz segment) Multi-7 covers 2 meters, but without scan fucntion Features – Double conversion superheterodyne receiver – Two-stage crystal filter for selectivity – Two RF stages featuring dual-gate MOSFETs – Fractional microvolt sensitivity – Sensitive squelch with 0.5 uV threshold – Receiver Incremental Tuning (RIT) range of ±5 kHz – Transmitter & Audio: NBFM (Narrowband FM) – 10 Watts RF output power (switchable to 1 Watt low power) – Protective circuit for the final output transistor – Built-in tone oscillator with switch for testing or control – Metering & Controls: Multi-function meter indicating Power Output and "S" units, switchable to FM discriminator center tuning. – External VFO or synthesized input Power Requirements: 13.5 VDC negative ground.
