Note
The LDG AT-200Pro (and the subsequent AT-200ProII) is an automatic antenna tuner designed for higher-power applications, bridging the gap between standard 100-watt tuners and full-power legal limit models. It is a desktop unit optimized for versatile shack integration.
The unit is known for its "Pro" series aesthetic, featuring a distinctive dual LED bar graph display.
Technical Features
– The AT-200Pro utilizes a switched-L network controlled by a microprocessor to find a match quickly.
– Power Handling: Rated for 250 watts (SSB/CW) and roughly 100 watts on digital modes/RTTY.
– Frequency Range: Covers 1.8 to 54 MHz (160 through 6 meters).
– Matching Range: Typically 6 to 1,000 Ω (approx. 10:1 SWR) on HF; slightly narrower on 6 meters.
– Memory Slots: Includes 16,000 frequency-sensing memories, allowing for near-instantaneous retuning to previously used frequencies.
– Forward Power: Real-time wattage output.
– SWR: Standing Wave Ratio indicators for quick visual monitoring during a tune cycle.
– Radio Interface: A dedicated jack for DC power and integration cables (Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, etc.), which allows the "Tune" button on the radio to trigger the tuner automatically.
Operational Features
– Latching Relays: The tuner uses latching relays that consume very little power once a match is found. This also means it "remembers" the settings even if power is disconnected.
– Tuning Speed: Initial "full" tunes usually take 0.5 to 6 seconds, while memory-based tunes occur in less than 0.1 seconds.
– Auto Mode: Can be set to "Auto" mode, where it begins a tune cycle as soon as it detects an SWR above a user-defined threshold (usually 2:1).
