Walter Ashe catalog, 1954, p. 8.
"R" version is for low impedance applications.
The model 381 VFO was an accessory for Lysco’s mobile monobander transmitters, but could do fixed-st-tion service as well. It had three tubes and the dial was calibrated for 80, 40, 20, and 10 meters. The VFO’s output was either on 80 or 40; $21.95, 1951
The 382 and 382R, probably released in 1952 (but probably before the Novice band was allocated in May of that same year, since the 15 meter band is missing from the 382), are updated versions of the 381(R). Outwardly, the two are nearly identical, except that the cabinet of the 382 is about an inch and a half longer. The added length was necessary to accommodate some circuit changes .
