General Notes

Note

QST, Jul 1946, p. 108. Lafayette catalog number 88 (1947), p. 102. The McMurdo Silver Model 800 UHF receiver was based on a design published by Ed Tilton, W1HDQ, in QST magazine. The Model 800 covered the 144 and 220 MHz bands. Particular attention was paid to eliminating radiation from the set’s super-regenerative detector. The 800 and 801 are virtually indistinguishable. Both are labeled as "H. F. Receiver." Only the small stamped model number tells them apart.
