General Notes

Note

Lafayette catalog number 88 (1947), p. 102. (801 and 801B QST, Nov 1947, p. 105. The model 800 receiver covered 144-148 and 235-240 MHz using plug-in coils. The four-tube, super-regenerative set was based on a W1HOQ design published in a 1946 QST article. It had a built-in speaker. Other receivers in the 800 series had a similar appearance but different internal designs and frequency coverage. The 801 was a regenerative set covering .45-60 MHz. The 802 was an 80 through 6 meter ham-band-only superhet with a 735kHz IF and a regenerative detector. The 801 and 800 are virtually indistinguishable. Both are labeled as "H. F. Receiver." Only the small stamped model number tells them apart.
