The 402 Econo Keyer used the Curtis 8044 chip and had a built-in, adjustable single-lever paddle. When used with an external squeeze key, it was capable of iambic operation. It lacked the monitor and speaker of the more expensive model 404. Speed range was 8–50 wpm.
