It was easy to stock replacement tubes for the CM-1. In the compact Mosley ham receiver, every tube in the set was a 6AW8; the receiver used five of them plus two 1N34 diodes. The double-conversion CM-1 covered the 80 through 10 meter bands and WWV at 15 MHz. The two receivers pictured illustrate the cosmetic differences between early- and late-production units.
The Mosley CM-1 communications receiver covers the 80 through 10 meter amateur radio bands, with tuning ranges divided into specific positions on the bandswitch:
80 Meters (Position 80A): 3.490 to 4.140 MHz
40 Meters (Position 40D): 6.860 to 7.510 MHz
20 Meters (Position 20D): 13.860 to 14.510 MHz
15 Meters (Position 15D): 20.860 to 21.510 MHz
10 Meters, Segment 1 (Position 10A): 28.490 to 29.140 MHz
10 Meters, Segment 2 (Position 10B): 27.990 to 28.640 MHz
10 Meters, Segment 3 (Position 10C): 29.090 to 29.740 MHz
In addition to the amateur bands, the receiver can tune WWV at 15.000 MHz. This is accessed by setting the bandswitch to the 40D position and peaking the preselector near 15 MHz, which provides a total spread from 14.490 to 15.140 MHz on the main dial.
