(these might be NOS) The 12-tube set covered 0.49–30 MHz in six bands. Band switching the NC-2-40C was accomplished by pulling out the main-tuning knob, which engaged gears on the receiver’s moving-coil catacomb. Turning the knob shifted the coil rack until the desired band was selected. When the knob was pushed back in, it re-engaged the tuning capacitor. In addition to its general-coverage tuning range of 0.49-30 MHz, the NC-2-40D had expanded band-spread coil ranges for the 80, 40, 20, and 10 meter amateur bands. Each band occupied 80% of the dial space. The 12-tube receiver used National's moving-coil catacomb and had an improved crystal filter and series noise limiter. Often seen as "NC-240"
