The NC-57 had a wide tuning range which extended from 0.54-55 MHz. The nine-tube receiver had a built-in loudspeaker and AC power supply. Accessories for the NC-57 included the SM-57 external S-meter and a tilt-up base.
Most changes in the NC-57B from its NC-57 predecessor were minor. Among them was rewiring the accessory socket for National’s Select-O-Ject. The regulator tube was changed from an OD3 to a VR-150.
