(1-10A) QST, Oct 1948, p. 105. In 1936, National introduced the One-Ten as a tool for exploring the amateur spectrum above 10 meters. The four-tube set tuned wavelengths from 10 meters to 1 meter. It sold for $85.00, including six sets of coils, but minus tubes, speaker, and power supply. National's 1-10A updated the pre-war 1-10 design by improving performance and smoothness of control. The super-regenerative receiver covered 27-290 MHz with six sets of plug-in coils. It operated from batteries or an external supply; $67.50. Note: When the "A" version was released, the nomenclature became "1-10" instead of the earlier "One-Ten." References Brief description. Radio News, Jul 1936, p. 61. Review.
