Improvements in the 400-B include simplified operation, improved TVI suppression, and a new metering circuit to read RF voltage input and RF amperes output.
The LA-400-C was a kit version of P&H’s factory-wired LA-400-B linear amplifier. It used four modified 1625 tubes in a Class B, grounded-grid circuit. PEP input was 400 watts. A later version was rated at 800 watts PEP. The amplifier covered 80–10 meters.
