Palomar’s I.C. Keyer included a built-in monitor and speaker and came on a heavyweight base. A dual-lever squeeze keyer was mounted atop the case’s aluminum box housing the electronics. It was powered by a 9 volt battery. Compact design taking up less table space than a traditional semi-automatic mechanical key.
Housed in a die-cast metal case for full RF shielding. Features a built-in dual-lever paddle that is fully adjustable for spacing and tension.
– Keying Modes: Functions as a semi-automatic, full automatic, self-completing, dot memory, iambic, or straight key.
– Speed Range: Adjustable speed from 5 to 50 words per minute (wpm), selectable while sending.
– Controls: Includes an Automatic/Semi-Automatic switch, Volume control, Speed control, and Weight adjustment.
– Audio: Features a built-in sidetone oscillator and top-mounted speaker.
Transmitter Compatibility
– Transmitter Switching: Can key grid-block, cathode-keyed, or plate-keyed transmitters up to 500 Volts and 1 Ampere of keyed current.
– Contact Quality: Equipped with silver keying contacts designed to withstand heavy surge currents and voltage spikes.
Battery Operation: Uses a clip-in 9V transistor battery providing approximately 75 hours of normal operation (making it portable-friendly).
