Note
The Palstar AT1KP is an American-made antenna tuner designed as a differential-T impedance matching network. It is capable of handling power up to 1200 watts PEP SSB and 800 watts CW across a frequency range of 1.8 to 54 MHz (160 to 6 meters).
Features
– Tuning Network: Features a dual-stator differential variable capacitor (408−14−408 pF, 4.5 kV) and a 15 μH roller inductor with a silver-plated bar/wheel on a steatite ceramic core.
– 160 Meter Function: Includes a 10 μH fixed toroid inductance that is switched into the circuit via a front-panel relay specifically for the 160-meter band.
– Metering: Uses a dual-movement cross-needle power and SWR meter that displays forward and reflected power simultaneously. It supports Peak and Peak Hold functions for accurate monitoring.
– Impedance Range: Matches loads from 20 to 1500 Ω (assuming resistive load), though power should be reduced for lower impedance ranges.
