General Notes

Note

The Palstar DL2K is a high-power dry dummy load designed and manufactured in Ohio, USA by Palstar Inc. It serves as a non-inductive resistive load for testing transmitters and transceivers under high power levels without radiating an over-the-air signal. Features – Resistive Elements: It utilizes solid ceramic, non-inductive resistive elements that are highly resistant to overload and high-temperature operation. – Features a versatile thermostatically controlled fan cooling system managed by a front-panel toggle switch: – ON Mode: The fan runs continuously as long as the 12V DC supply is connected. – AUTO Mode: The fan remains off until the internal ceramic resistors reach a pre-set threshold temperature, at which point it activates automatically to prevent thermal damage. Specifications – Frequency Range: DC to 100 MHz. – Power Capability: Rated for 2000 Watts for up to 1 minute. – Impedance: 54 ohms, +0/–10% – Metering: Equipped with an internal wattmeter and a large, backlit analog front-panel meter. The Power Range switch allows selecting between 0–500 Watts and 0–2500 Watts scales. – Power Requirements: Requires 12 VDC at 500 mA (via a rear panel DC jack and supplied wall transformer) to power the cooling fan and the meter lamp.
