General Notes

Note

73, Sep 1963, p. 29. The DGC series consists of custom-built, premium VHF/UHF receiving converters produced by Redline (located in Jaffrey, New Hampshire). Marketed with the headline "Money Is No Object," they were designed as uncompromising, high-end units rather than mass-market economy models. Technical Specifications & Models Frequency Coverage: Available for four distinct VHF/UHF amateur radio bands: 50 MHz (DGC-50) 144 MHz (DGC-144) 220 MHz (DGC-220) 432 MHz (mentioned, but no model number provided) The design is entirely "nuvistorized," using the 6DV4 nuvistor tube in the front end. Each unit is individually custom built to the buyer's specifications regarding band coverage and desired IF output frequency. Every unit includes an engraved call sign on the unit and comes with an individual test result certificate. Enclosure: Housed in a heavy solid aluminum extruded case that can be placed directly on an operating desk or mounted to a rack panel. Finished with a bright red front face and a black cover. No specifications provided.
