RME designed its tunable preselector to match the Model 69 as well as the older RME 9D receivers, although it would work with other brands as well. The DB-20 covered 0.54–32 MHz, providing increased sensitivity and image rejection for the host receiver. The unit had an internal power supply and used two tubes plus a rectifier.
