Prompted by the allocation of 15 meters and the opening of 40 meters to phone operation, RME introduced a five-band mobile converter. The MC-55 covered 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10-11 meters. It had a built-in noise clipper and four tuned circuits in its 1550 kHz IF output stage. RME had entered the mobile market with it MC-53. See separate entry.
