General Notes

Note

QST, Dec 1953, p. 149. QST, Apr 1954, p. 96. ("Mobile-Ceiver for '54." Presumably improved?) QST, Nov 1954, p. 146. (Model B) The Mobil-ceiver made by S&W Electronics of Los Angeles, California served as the audio and IF stages for a mobile converter. Its tuning range was 1400–1600 kHz, accommodating the output frequency of most converters on the market. Its own IF was at 175 kHz and offered selectivity bandwidths of 5, 10, and 20 kHz. The Mobil-ceiver had a noise lim-iter, speaker, and BFO. A built-in 6 or 12 VDC power supply also furnished filament, plate, and AVC voltages to the converter. This is virtually the same device as Morrow's Super Ceiver, which was introduced just a few months earlier.
