The Model 345 Sky Sweep was a single-conversion 6 meter receiver. The 11-tube set could be used as a tunable IF for converters and also had calibration for the 144, 220, and 432 MHz bands on its slide rule dial. It had a high-frequency IF for image rejection and used a crystal lattice filter for selectivity. The Sky Sweep had separate RF and IF gain controls, a noise limiter for AM, and a product detector with an adjustable BFO for SSB/CW.
While the dial is calibrated for 432, 220, and 144 MHz, the basic receiver is only 49–54 MHz. Reception on other frequencies required converters, which were advertised as being available in the future.
