Ten-Tec introduced the model 405 linear along with the Argonaut 505. The broad-band amplifier provided band-switching coverage of 80-10 meters and needed but 2 watts drive to produce 50 watts output. Its two panel meters showed power output and SWR. The 405 had an exciter actuated antenna relay. A delay control varied relay drop out from near QSK speed on CW to a longer hold time for SSB. An external 12 VDC source was required.
