Its power input was 5 watts PEP SSB and 5 watts CW on five bands. The rig was fully solid-state and all circuits were permeability tuned. A 2.5 kHz crystal filter in the Argonaut's 9 MHz IF was used on transmit and receive. A year later the Argonaut became the model 505, and the model 509 shown arrived in 1976. It retained the basic flavor of the original Argonaut, with its QSK CW, no-tune broad-band amp, built-in SWR/S-meter, RIT, and direct frequency readout.
