The Model 545 Omni-A and its companion Omni-B replaced the Triton series as Ten-Tec's premier transceivers. The Omni-A had an analog dial. It covered 16D-10 meters and had 10 MHz WWV and AUX positions on the band switch to accommodate future allocations. The Omni had two-speed break-in and two offset ranges on the RIT. The 8-pole, 2.4 kHz sideband filter was complemented by a 150 Hz active filter for CW which had three selectable skirt contours. Power input was 200 watts.
Model 546 Omni-D was identical to the Omni-A except for its digital dial. The six-digit readout used 0.43 inch LEDs displaying frequency to 100 Hz. The unit shown is an Omni-D, Series B. It offered two additional IF crystal filters in 1.8 and .5kHz bandwidths. They were switched in series with the standard 2.4 kHz filter. The audio filter had been given 300 and 400 Hz bandwidths in addition to the 150 Hz filter used in the earlier Omni. A tunable notch filter was added as well.
