General Notes

Note

Radio, Jul 1935, p. 22. QST Sep 1935, page 69. (Not specifically referred to as model H.) Allied Radio catalog, 1936 p. 86. Radio News, Dec 1935, p. 374. (new dial) Referred to in some ads as the "Tobe Amateur Communications Receiver." Also as the Model H. The Model H was sold as a partially assembled kit. The tuning unit was pre-wired and aligned. The purchaser finished assembling and wiring the 7 -tube receiver. It covered the 160, 80, 40, and 20 meter amateur bands. A review in Radio News, Sep 1935, p. 147 indicates it is made by Browning. The 1936 Allied catalog listing also seems to suggest that this is the Browning 35. If you compare images in the three sources listed, there are some differences in appearance. References Review. Radio News, Sep 1935, p. 147 Discussion. Radio News, Jan 1936, p. 442.
