The Varitronics name was associated with Inoue/Icom in the early days of Japanese equipment’s entry into the U.S. Market. The PA-50 Class C amplifier was made in the U.S.A by Varitronics Incorporated in Phoenix, Arizona. The 50 watt amp required 5–12 watts drive and covered all of the 2 meter amateur band.
