Venus Scientific of Farmingdale, New York was among the few companies that made commercial equipment for amateur slow-scan television. The SS-2 monitor could also be used as an oscilloscope to check the sync of transmitted and received SSTV signals. A front-panel switch permitted rapid selection of voice or video signals. The brightness adjustment offered automatic CRT burn protection. A Polaroid camera adapter was available so that instant pictures could be taken of the screen image.
