Waters’ model 3001 Universal Coupler and phone patch not only connected a transmitter and receiver to the phone line, but also had functions for transcribing with a tape recorder or playing taped messages over the air. Its hybrid circuitry allowed VOX operation of the station. Model 3002 is the same as 3001, but includes Waters “Compreamp” speech processor.
The universal Hybrid Coupler connects receiver, transmitter, tape recorder, speaker, microphone and 600 ohm line. With ONE switch and NO adjustment you are ready to:
– Record BOTH sides of QSO.
– Transmit recorded QSO on the air or to a 600 ohm line.
– Record information from 600 ohm line now, transmit later.
– Operate your transmitter from 600 ohm line.
Uses a new wide band hybrid network with an easy to set-and-forget broad balance null control. Convenient terminals and standard audio-type connectors. Operates either VOX or push to talk with AM or SSB with any high impedance microphone, crystals or dynamic. Mounts horizontally or vertically. Requires no power.
After 1970, B&W took over the Waters brand of products, subsequently resold under the B&W label.
