Note
The Yaesu FTM-510DR is a premium dual-band (2m / 70cm) mobile transceiver designed for both analog FM and C4FM digital operations. Positioned as a powerful centerpiece for mobile installs or base stations, it expands on Yaesu's System Fusion ecosystem with deep feature sets, high-performance audio, and advanced multi-channel monitoring.
The FTM-510DR utilizes a high-resolution, full-color TFT touch panel display paired with a heavy-duty physical control layout.
The FTM-510DRASP shares the core feature set of the FTM-500DR with an enhanced new Super-DX and ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor Unit).
– Super-DX : When the received signal is weak, the sensitivity of the RF amplifier can be increased by activating the Super-DX function in both C4FM digital/ FM analog modes.
– ASP (Audio Digital Signal Processor) : When operating in FM analog mode, the ASP can also be activated in addition to the Super-DX. By digitally processing the received FM audio to remove noise, the ASP ensures reliable and comfortable audio quality for weak signals. This helps to expand the communication range.
– ASP AUTO mode is also selectable. In this mode, the ASP is automatically activated when the transceiver detects weak signals in FM analog mode.
Core Features
– Primary Multi-Channel Activity Monitor (PMG): As shown on the display above, the Primary Memory Group activity monitor allows real-time bar-graph monitoring of up to 5 channels simultaneously. You can rapidly register active frequencies and instantly switch to them using the massive central dial.
– CFS (C4FM Digital Features): Full support for AMS (Automatic Mode Select), ensuring seamless communication across mixed digital and analog groups. It includes integrated smart navigation, Digital Group ID (DG-ID), and WIRES-X internet gateway connectivity.
– Audio System: Incorporates Yaesu's AESS (Acoustic Enhanced Speaker System). By combining the front panel speaker with the main chassis speaker, it delivers a rich, spatial $3\text{ W}$ or higher audio profile that cuts cleanly through mobile road noise.
– Integrated GPS & APRS: A high-speed 66-channel GPS receiver is built directly into the front panel, providing plug-and-play $1200/\text{9600 bps}$ APRS packet data tracking, position reporting, and station lists without requiring external cables.
– Bluetooth Connectivity: Built-in Bluetooth support permits completely hands-free operation using compatible wireless headsets (like the Yaesu SSM-BT10 or standard third-party options).
– Recording Capabilities: An onboard microSD card slot handles channel memory backup, GPS data logging, and audio recording of received transmissions.
