Context

L-R, Albert East, Ridley Brown, Samuel Stevenson, Ken Newman, Bill Gadsby. The crew was shot down over Texel on 15 January 1944; Ken Newman was not flying with them because he was sick; his place had been taken by Leslie Laver. Albert East and Rid Brown were the only survivors.
