Context

The General Service badge was for veterans who had served in the Canadian military during the Second World War. The badge was only awarded to those who had volunteered for general service, in any theatre of war including away from Canada. The badge is numbered on the back: 517075. The back also gives the penalty for misuse as being 500 dollars or six months imprisonment. The badge is made of sterling silver. This badge may have been given to, or was claimed by, the family after Paul David's death. Donated by Claude David.
