Ray Richards was close friends with Wilf Sutton, to whom the card is signed. They had both been four years into a seven-year apprenticeship in machine tools when they joined the RAF. Both were posted to Blackpool in January 1940 for initial training. This is an end of course photograph, which Ray gave to his friend. Date probably March-April 1940. Ray and Wilf went their separate ways thereafter, and did not meet again until after the war. Donated by Judi Nurcombe.Collection
