Henry Naldrett's Pathfinder badge was awarded permanently on 22 December 1944; it was a posthumous award, dated to the exact day of his death. It is signed by the AOC of the Path Finder Force, Donald Bennett. Although Bennett was 8 Group and Henry Naldrett was flying with 5 Group whose AOC was Ralph Cochrane, Bennett always signed the certificates for the squadrons which had been 'loaned' (very much against his will) to 5 Group.
