RAF personnel who suffered extreme head trauma were treated at this hospital, for example: Ronnie Gibson. 97 Squadron, injured in a crash on 5 May 1943, who survived; and Flight Lieutenant Allan, 405 Squadron, RCAF, who crashed near Graveley on 17 December 1943, suffered a fractured skull, and died at St Hugh's on 28 December 1943.Collection
