Some of 35 Squadron's aircraft were sponsored by the Madras Presidency, hence the alternative name of "35 (Madras Presidency) Squadron"; the aircraft were named to reflect the sponsorship. There are no identifying marks on this Halifax except for F for F-Freddy. The men are a mixture of aircrew, front row, and the ground crew, back row, who serviced the aircraft. Unfortunately, the photograph is badly torn where the bomb trolley is pictured. Members of the Lane crew are identifiable in this photograph.
