Last two pages of Pete Balson's Flying Log Book. The last official entry on 21 June 1943 records that the crew are missing. Two years later, reunited with his logbook, Pete Balson records his return to England in pencil at the bottom of the same page; he says that on 12 May 1945 he flew home from Rheine (Germany) to Westcott (UK) in a Fortress flown by "some yank". He was among the last batches of POWs coming back as many had returned in late April-beginning of May. Courtesy of John Balson.Collection
