1934 Ford Model BB Tow Truck Holmes Body in the Antique Auto Display.
Name/Title
1934 Ford Model BB Tow Truck Holmes Body
Description
This Ford Model BB tow truck, equipped with a flat-head V8 engine, is built on a 1934 Ford chassis with a "Holmes" wrecker body. Created by Ernest Holmes in 1916, this was considered one of the most efficient designs for tow trucks. The design featured a long, well-built frame that included a strong winch system. This enabled these trucks to tow vehicles with greater effectiveness.
This tow truck was in previous Windjammer Day parades in Boothbay Harbor, supposedly just in case another car in the parade broke down.
