1949 Whizzer Motorized BicycleDescription
Whizzer released its Model 300 motor in September 1949 to keep pace with new competition from other manufacturers. This engine had a more efficient combustion chamber, better cooling, and a higher compression ratio. Producing 3 hp, this engine enabled this bicycle to reach speeds of up to 40 mph. About 15,000 of these engines were sold at $109.97 each. Due to increasing competition in the bicycle engine market, Whizzer discontinued production of their engines in 1965.Motor Vehicle Type
