1964 Cushman Truckster

Description

For over 50 years, Newbert "Brud" Pierce stood by this orange wagon in Boothbay Harbor, ME, selling hot dogs. "You want everything on it?" Brud would ask, which usually resulted in a nod. Soon after, mayonnaise and chopped onions were added to the hot dog. Brud was known as the "Hot Dog King of Boothbay Harbor." Brud's "Hot Dog Wagon" is a 1964 Cushman Truckster powered by a two-cylinder, four-stroke gasoline engine with electric start that produces 18 hp. It is also fitted with a three-speed manual transmission including a reverse gear. Cushman trucksters were used in multiple other ways, too. Some were used for police patrol, meter maids, ice cream vendors, turf maintenance, golf carts, and one was supposedly outfitted as a fire truck for the Pentagon.
